British company Vast Resources, which manages the Manaila and Baita Plai polymetallic mines in Romania, has initiated the first tests to process gold and silver at the Manaila mine, Suceava county.
The company said that it would extract about 30 tons of gold and silver concentrate every month starting May 2017.
The British group thus adds a new type of concentrate processed in the Suceava mine, reaching a total of three products: copper, zinc, gold, and silver. The new type of concentrate will be processed in a way that it’s environmentally friendly, since it does not involve the use of chemicals, the company said.
The production of gold and silver concentrate is an important step in the evolution of the Manaila mine. It is the second type of concentrate for which the company has found processing solutions in the last year.
Vast Resources owns 50.1% in the mining project Manaila, and 80.1% in the polymetallic mine in Baita Plai in Bihor county.
