Resource Mining Corporation Ltd has fielded rock chip assays from fieldwork conducted on the Hirvikallio Project in Finland, which returned results up to 4.26% lithium from target HV0141 and 3.3% from HV0142.

The company will now study the ratios of trace elements in these rock chips, including rare earth elements, rubidium and potassium, to aid in identifying other lithium-bearing pegmatite bodies in the project tenure.

RMI is now preparing an exploration permit application for the lithium-prospective targets on the project.

Hunting for additional pegmatites

“The exciting high-grade Li2O results obtained from recent fieldwork by RMC on the Hirvikallio project confirms again the presence of high-grade lithium-bearing pegmatite bodies in the central and southern part of the reservation area, away from the Natura 2000 area in the north,” Resource Mining Corporation executive chair Asimwe Kabunga said.

“Trace element studies on the samples taken during the 2022 and 2023 field seasons will increase our knowledge and understanding of the pegmatite system(s) in the Hirvikallio project and will likely lead to discovering additional high-grade lithium-bearing pegmatites.”

RMI has also applied for exploration permits for the Kola Lithium Project, which the company expects to receive shortly.

Once the permit is secured, RMI will begin drilling as soon as practically possible.

The Hirvikallio Project is on a 165-square-kilometre exploration reservation in the SomeroTammela area of southern Finland. Finnish Geological Services (GTK) considers it one of the most promising lithium pegmatite provinces in Finland.
