Boosting Egypt’s mining sector: Key agreements at Egypt Mining Forum

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi oversaw the signing of several significant cooperation agreements in the mining sector during the Egypt Mining Forum.

The agreements included:

  1. A Cooperation Protocol between the Egyptian Mining Resources Authority (EMRA), The National Company for Telecommunications Services (NCTS), and Egypt Maintenance Company (EMC). This protocol aims to provide telecommunications solutions for EMRA through the Tiba satellite. Signatories included Yasser Ramadan, Chairman of EMRA, Samy Shedied, Chairman of NCTS, and Khaled Ibrahim, Chairman of EMC.
  2. A Cooperation Protocol between the Egyptian Company for Mineral Resources (EMRA) and EK Mining Company, focused on investing in the mining sector by enhancing the value of mineral ores through establishing related industries. Signed by Dr. Hany Mustafa, Chairman of the Egyptian Mineral Resources Company, and Engineer Mustafa Kamel, Executive Director of EK Mining Company.
  3. A Cooperation Protocol between Shalateen Company and the Desert Research Center, aimed at leveraging shared expertise to implement Egypt’s Vision 2030 local and national development plan. Dr. Sherif El-Shahawy, Chairman of Shalateen Company, and Dr. Hossam Shoukry from the Desert Research Center signed this protocol.
  4. A protocol between New Valley Company for Mineral Resources and Oil Clay (Wadico) and Diar Consulting Group, focusing on project management consultations for the separation and production of kaolin ore from kaolinite sand. Signed by Amgad Ghoneim, Managing Director of Wadico and Hany Nabil Osman, Director of Diar Consulting Group.

These agreements underscore Egypt’s commitment to enhancing its mining sector capabilities and fostering strategic partnerships to drive sustainable development and economic growth.
